ABOUT.

Who am I?

My name is Miguel Ortega and I have more than 10 years of experience as a physiotherapist. Since I finished my graduate studies at the University of Malaga I have had the opportunity to continue to grow as a professional and treat all types of injuries and patients.

Currently I offer my physiotherapy services at home in Malaga and surroundings with a clear mission: bringing physiotherapy to every patient looking for it in Malaga and making it accessible to those who, for various reasons, face difficulties to travel to a physiotherapy clinic to receive their treatment.

Why NEURON?

NEURON is a home-based physiotherapy service created in response to the need of many patients when searching for accessible treatment without having to travel long distances, either because of physical limitations or the lack of help or accompaniment to do so.

I am passionate about what I do and believe in the impact of home physiotherapy in patients and their close ones. Thanks to the intervention in your own environment, you can feel first-hand how the therapy transfers to daily-life activities such as standing up, washing or dressing.

NEURON aims to serve as a neuron cell: connecting different pieces and generating impulses to promote changes. NEURON connects your health.

If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.

Nelson Mandela

And what better way to connect than in one’s own language? There are several studies that show that addressing patients in their native language reinforces their positive feelings during treatment and thus the potential improvement in their injury.

In all these years I had the opportunity to work both in Spain and internationally in countries such as Finland and, for several years, in the region of Bavaria in southern Germany, where I received professional recognition from the government of the Regierung Oberpfalz. From there I continued developing myself surrounded by great figures of the profession and learning to do it in different languages, such as Spanish, English and German, which allows me to approach not only different therapeutic facets of physiotherapy, but also the more social and human.
